A Layout With a Bit of Flair!

Hi everyone, it's Cathy here again with another layout for The Crafty Pickle.  One of my favourite embellishments to use on a layout is flair badges, and since I have so many awesome ones from The Crafty Pickle I figured I'd see how many I could fit on a page!  I mean, what's better than one flair badge?  Well in this case six flair badges!   Now right now Taniesas' wonderful shop is on a short break, but when it's up and running again be sure to check out the awesome collections I used to create my layout!  I also used some stamps from Close To My Heart to round out my design! In order to achieve dimension with my badges I used hot glue for some and foam squares for the others so that I could layer them.  Don't be afraid to grab some of your stash of badges and pile 'em up high!  The more the merrier!

This is the fantastic sketch she created for us:

And here is my take on this sketch, using 3 Crafty Pickle flairs from 3 different sets!

I chose to scrap about my art, which is something very important to me.  I scrapped about my art because in the past year I have been neglecting it and I really want a reminder to get back into it!

So don't forget to pop on over to the Scrap Your Scraps blog to check out the complete post, as well as checking out all the wonderful participants!

Love is in the air!

It's February 3rd, which means it's only 11 days until Valentines Day.  Now I'm not a big Valentines person, but I do love doing themed layouts and taking cute pictures of my kids!  For today I made a layout featuring flair from The Crafty Pickle!  I used some flair from the Vintage Valentines set pictured below.

For my layout I went all artistic! I used mist, water colours, and chalkboard paint to add some extra touches to my background.  I had so much fun creating this layout, it was a bit different for me to just let loose and go with the flow but I liked just putting stuff down without worry about it looking perfect!  I was also amazed with how easy and quickly this layout came together.  The flair added just a little bit of a vintage touch to a more modern layout.

Make sure you check out all the wonderful Valentines collections available at The Crafty Pickle as well as some sweet sequins to go along with all your lovey dovey projects!

Feburary 1st sketch is up and going!

It's February 1st and it's time for the first sketch of the month from Sketch N Scrap!  Make sure you pop on over and check out the rules for playing along with our sketch challenges this month!  So here is the sketch for February 1st!

And here is the layout I created using the sketch!

I white-washed the background of my layout first, then added some hand stitching up and down just for some extra texture. I'm very happy with how this little layout turned out, and I was happy to dig deep into my stash to find that tough guy sticker!

I also somehow managed to squeeze in completing another layout!  I made this one for Scrap Your Scraps as a contributing layout.  I loved creating this layout, getting to break out my old Cricut machine to create the deer background.

I want all the snuggles.

It's time again for another layout for The Crafty Pickle!  This time I grabbed some of the Cozy Fall flair set available in the shop and set to work.  There's just something I love about having all my embellishments work together to paint a larger picture and I think that definitely happened here.  There is a light and airy feel to the layout and the dark flair badge helps bring out the browns in the photo.  I also grabbed a big 'ol handful of various sequins from The Crafty Pickle.  I had some Christmas, Fall, and Winter sequins so I mixed them all together and created a huge pocket for them with gold striped vellum.  I love the peekaboo colours just hinted at behind the gold!  Hope you enjoy and have a crafty week!

I made a card?

I know I know, it's weird.  It's like putting on someone elses shoe or something,  it should fit but it still feels a little uncomfortable.  I hoping I'll start to enjoy it though, as it really shouldn't be that big of a leap from scrapping!  From now on, every 20th of the month I will be making a card for Sketch N Scrap.  I will definitely enjoy the challenge, and when all is said and done I'll have a nice stockpile of cards I can use when I'm in a pickle!  So here is the card sketch we had.

And here is my card in all its glory :)

I've also been a little busy beaver making layouts.  Here is a contributing layout I made for a post over at Scrap Your Scraps  I can't believe I actually managed to scrapbook about Christmas day, and I finished the layout, that's a big one for me!

One Foxy Lady

It's time for my first layout for the new year for The Crafty Pickle!  Taniesa has been working overtime getting lots of new fun flairs and other items ready for her shop.  I am loving the sequins that she's offering now!  Be sure to pop on over to her Etsy shop and take a look!

For my layout today I used two flair badges from her Autumn collection.  I love the versatility of these badges, and how cute is that fox!

And here is my layout!  I was inspired from a layout by Martha Bonneau at Cocoa Daisy

Thanks so much for stopping by today, have a crafty day!

Time for a Twistback

For 2015 Sketch 'N' Scrap has a new challenge for us.  It's call Twistback Thursdays!  Every month they will dig deep into their sketchy vault and give us an oldie but a goodie to work with!  There will also be an additional challenge to go along with the sketch too!  This month our challenge was to combine an older paper and embellishments and a new paper and embellishments!  So here we have a sketch from 2012.

So here is my take on this sketch!

As always there is a chance to win a great prize, but you can't win if you don't play, so hop on over and give it a try!

It's a New Year of scrapping!

And that means a whole new round of sketches from Sketch N Scrap.  I'm on the design team for one more term and am super excited to get to create for them!  To kick things off here is the January 1st sketch from them

And here is layout inspired by this sketch.  I didn't change too much about this sketch when I created my layout and I loved the winter inspiration so much I decided to do a Holiday layout.

Remember to head on over to Sketch N Scrap and play along with this months challenge, as always there are prizes but you can't win if you don't play!
