Some Fathers Day Love
Hey it's me, and I managed to get through one crazy crap shoot of a week! I ended up really sick while taking my son away so he could have surgery, so yeah, it's been a whole heap of fun. Thankfully everyone is on the mend now and I can get back to my scrap room. Well it's almost Fathers Day and over at the Hip Kit Club Facebook page and blog we are celebrating fathers, so I made a little layout featuring my hubby! He is my best friend, my rock, and my biggest supporter, so I wanted to give him a moment to shine in my scrapbook! I used lots of bits and pieces to create this layout, in almost a grid like fashion. This is a great way to use up some of the odds and ends you might have at the end of your kit! Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to check out my process video for my layout!

Happy Happy Happy!!!
It's been one crazy week. We are getting prepared as a family to head over to Halifax so that we can take our youngest for surgery at the IWK. I have been busy prepping and packing, because since my daughter also had an appointment for the IWK on the same day that we would turn it into a tiny family trip. This is the first time we have ever traveled anywhere with all three kids, and I'll be honest, I'm a little worried. My kids are rowdy at the best of times, so we will see how this goes!
Well, since I'm leaving Monday I figured I had better get my blog post done for Hip Kit Club so it's ready to go!! I'm working with the May 2016 Kit and embellishment add-on again this time. I'm sure there may even be a bit of the project life add on splashed in there, and this time I got my hands dirty with the color add on!
I had so much fun making this layout, since I got to do one of my favorite things, which is combining lots of patterned papers! I do love using a white background and tend to gravitate towards them, but I am not shy about grabbing bold patterned papers and using them as a background or to create layers!!
Take a look at some close ups too, since I got a chance to use the Shimmerz Paints Dazzlerz in Spun Sugar and the Shimmerz Vibez in Jeni B Bleu.
Oh and while you're here don't forget to take a peek at my process video for the layout!!!

My First Hip Kit Layout!
Here I am already with my first layout for Hip Kit Club!!! When I first got the May 2016 kits I was in love with all the bright and fun colours! The exclusive papers designed by Kim Watson blended so nicely with the papers from the JilliBean Soup collection Happy Healthy Soup, and the exclusive ephemera was to die for! I was immediately drawn to a piece of exclusive paper that had horizontal stripes of ombre robins egg blue paper with polkadots in between the blue stripes. I don't know why but I immediately knew I wanted to use my fringe scissors to create an ombre fringe element on my page! I wanted my photo to be the big focus so I kept the embellishments to a minimum, which I admit was hard to do as I loved all of them! I used the May Main Kit and May Add On, and I may have even dived into the Project Life kit just because I loved what was in it too! I am super happy with how this layout turned out and I can't wait to dive back in and make another one!!!
Oh and p.s. don't forget to check out my process video, you can find it at the bottom of this post!

On the Dream Team!
I am so excited and happy to say that I am now a part of the Design Team for Hip Kit Club!!! I have been a Hip Kit subscriber for a year now, and ever since I have joined I have admired the design team. Watching videos by Raquel, Irit, Missy, and Ashley were what inspired me to sign up in the first place and now I get to design along side them. It really is a scrappy dream come true for me. I am still in shock, even though I've already completed my first layout and video, which will be posted this evening at 6pm EST/ 7pm ADT. In the meantime though I've got a little sneaky peek of my first layout for Hip Kit! Also, if you're someone who's interested in joining a monthly kit subscription I encourage you to give them a look see, I really love their style and products!

It's more than a hobby
Hey peeps!!! Wow, I can't believe how quickly the days are now. I have so much I want to get done and there doesn't seem to ever be enough hours in the day, or enough energy for me to get them all done! Ever since my 3rd was born in October I just can't seem to get enough sleep, even when I do get enough I'm still tired. Needless to say it does not make me a very happy camper that when given the opportunity to work on something I usually end up choosing sleep! I also seem to be busier than ever, but I will admit, I'm not going to complain. I am loving what I'm doing.
When I started doing this I was just looking for a creative outlet, but it's become so much more than that for me, and I'm very grateful for what I get to do, and that I have so much support behind me. I often struggle between the dynamic of loving scrapping/crafting and worrying that I'm just wasting my time and money, but I remember seeing a quote once that said "Time spent doing something you love is never wasted" I have definitely started to look at all my hobbies in that light. Even just hanging out with my kids has taken on a whole new perspective now too.
For me, this outlet has become a way for me to get out of my slump. As someone that suffers from depression and anxiety even just being online talking and sharing my projects has helped me immensely, and I'm so happy for it. Making videos has also helped me be more adventurous and I'm excited to see the path all of this leads me! Well, I had better get back to making pretty things, so I'll talk to you all soon, later days!
